Commercial Window Film Questions
Can you install film after business hours?
Yes. We can schedule after hours or on weekends by arrangement, or work in phases so offices, clinics and stores stay open.
Can you work in an occupied building?
Yes. We plan the order of rooms with you, protect work areas and keep the noise and mess low. Film installation is a quiet, clean job compared with glass replacement.
Is film compatible with Low-E and dual-pane glass?
Many films are approved for these glass types, but not every film suits every window. We check the glass and the film maker's guidance before recommending a product.
Can we get privacy and still keep the view?
Reflective films give daytime privacy with an outward view, but the effect reverses at night when lights are on inside. Frosted and decorative films give privacy all day while blocking the view.
Will film stop merchandise and furniture from fading?
Film blocks most UV, a main cause of fading, but heat and visible light also play a part. It slows fading but does not stop it completely.
How long does a commercial installation take?
It depends on the amount of glass and access. We give a schedule in the written proposal after the site survey.
How does the warranty process work?
Warranty terms come from the film manufacturer and vary by product and glass type. We give them in writing with your proposal and help with any claim.
How do commercial estimates work?
We visit the building, measure the glass, check glass types and access, then send a written proposal. Estimates are free.
Residential Window Film Questions
Which rooms should I film first?
Start with the rooms that get the most direct sun, often west-facing living areas, upstairs bedrooms and game rooms.
Will film work on my dual-pane or Low-E windows?
Many films are approved for these windows, but compatibility depends on the film and glass. We check before recommending a product.
Can I get privacy without losing my view?
Some films give daytime privacy while you still see out, but that reverses at night with lights on inside. Frosted films give privacy all the time.
Will film stop my floors and furniture from fading?
It slows fading by blocking most UV, but heat and visible light also contribute, so it does not stop fading completely.
How long does home installation take?
Most homes take a few hours to one day, depending on the number of windows.
How do I clean filmed windows?
Wait for the film to cure as instructed, then use a soft cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid scrapers and rough pads.
How does the warranty work?
Warranty terms come from the film manufacturer and depend on the product. We give them to you in writing with your quote.
How do home estimates work?
We visit, look at the windows and the rooms you're concerned about, show samples and give a written price. Estimates are free.
General Questions
How much does commercial window tint cost in Houston?
It depends on the film, the square footage and access (ladders, lifts, after-hours work). We give a free on-site estimate with a written price for your building.
Is window tint legal for commercial buildings in Texas?
Texas tint laws mainly cover vehicles. Buildings may have rules from a landlord, HOA, building code or fire marshal, so check those before choosing a very reflective film.
How long does installation take?
Most homes take a few hours to one day. Commercial jobs can be phased or done after hours.
Does solar film reduce AC bills in Texas heat?
Solar film blocks a large share of the sun's heat through glass, which eases the AC load in hot rooms. Savings vary by building, so we don't promise a set number.
What's the difference between safety film and bullet-resistant film?
Safety and security film holds broken glass together and slows forced entry, but does not stop bullets. Bullet-resistant protection needs a tested system such as C-Bond BRS, rated only to the standards it was tested to.
How does smart film work and what does it cost?
Smart film (PDLC) switches from frosted to clear when power is applied. Cost depends on panel size, wiring and controls, so we quote after seeing the glass.
What is 3M DI-NOC and where is it used?
3M DI-NOC is a thin architectural film with wood, stone, metal and solid-color finishes. It wraps walls, doors, elevators, counters and furniture without demolition.
Do you offer warranties?
Yes. Warranty terms depend on the film and the maker and are given in writing with your quote.
Do you serve my city?
We serve all of Montgomery County and Harris County, Texas. See our Service Areas page for the towns we cover.
